Mirror mirror
My first manip ever! It's pretty basic, but I did it! Who is it? Well, who else could it be? Most beautiful girl in the world? That could only be Rosalie! I'm especially proud because the stock of the mirror is mine, and two of the textures are mine too, and I'm super happy with how they worked out. Otherwise, images are from Last Beautiful Girl and Shattered, textures are from Shattered and brushes are from Ugly Business... You know, the usual suspects! ♥

The prodigal returns
And... yet another first, my first Supernatural piece ever! It's kinda grungy and boy-like and the quote is from Six Feet Under. Images from PAAP and SCP, brushed from Ugly Business and Fractured Simplicity. I'm not too happy with the quality of John's face, but it wasn't super sharp to begin with, and I just couldn't quite get it right.

I have a new layout going on over here, by the way: [info]vltavska [info]vltavska [info]vltavska, come and check it out. And I have wild plans for a new layout on Unfolding before too long... Just gotta choose a colour scheme...! And decide on a few other vital pieces of information!

Saigon Battle Child
I really really love this song and I was listening to it the other day and got to thinking about how lost Riley is and how we have found out so much about her recently and how she is not another soldier, she is not another resistance fighter, she is child of war. While it might have seemed like Jesse was bringing her to a new world which was light again, really she was recruiting a soldier, cause unknown. The lyrics really comtrast a child in Australia and a child in Vietnam, but I think they kinda fit the two Riley's, both now inescapable. Additionally, I used other textures than I usually do- yay me! Yes! Expanding my horizons! Oh! And Terminator art, sans Summer Glau- that's new! 0.o Lol.

Caps, stocks, stocks, lyrics
And this piece was made for the Eyes on Fire challenge on BF- and... Summer features. Surprised? No, I'm not either... Episode: Allison from Palmdale.

Hmm. They are both quite purple. Note to self: new colour sceme next time...

Okay, so this is a concept I have had in my head for longer than I've had photoshop. And when I got photoshop I had no idea how I could possibly do justice to this concept since I was so in love with it and I couldn't even begin to make prettiness. I hope I've succeeded now. See, I've always kind of wondered about how Faith might view Dawn, considering she wasn't always Buffy's sister, and wondered if Faith had ever wished that Dawn were her sister and whether having Dawn in her life would have made a big difference to the problems Dawn had.

I made some art for one of the latest challenges on BF, and the City of Bones wallpaper has been crossposted elsewhere as well. But both are book art, which I didn't do at all for Twilight, unlike the rest of the fandom- somehow I couldn't get into 'casting' people, but for these, I liked finding people.

I'm winning again! Yes, there was art. This piece has been swimming around in my mind for the last couple of days... as usual, I'm a little behind on my shows, but the Bones love is strong- halfway through season two and just blown away by the Hodgins/Angela chemistry! ♥ I adore these two at the moment, and when I heard the song Breathless by Dan Wilson (live, by the way, he opened for Martha) the lyrics were just perfect for that 'just lost, almost had' moment that Hodgins has when Angela decides she doesn't want to be with him.

Not my usual style- if I have a style, which I don't think I do yet :p This one was something I had in the works for ages, and I'm happy with how it turned out, but it doesn't really feel 'me'. But my initial idea was to have Jack and Tru against a black and white background- Tru the 'good' one, and Jack the 'bad'- but of course nothing is that simple and the idea sort of took of from there.

This is somehow... different to anything I tried before. I got the idea I wanted to go back to having text in this piece, but there was so much going on... but having the blocks behind the text seems to be okay, I've seen other people do this and I think this kind of works here. Tons of layers, all just kinda... hopefully... glued together by some eclectic thread.

Once again I spent way too long just thinking of an idea for a wall. Of course, my main inspiration at the moment just seems to be Summer Glau as Cameron. Somehow I worked on this for ages, and there were all kinds of other ideas I had for it like text and textures but everything I put on I then took away, somehow didn't seem quite right.

I was a little late with this for the challenge I wanted to enter it into- so instead of being as black and white as I had intended, I let myself put a little colour in.

Credits go to Jenni Lou, Say Jay, Olga and SXC. I was pretty happy (and suprised) that I found such a good ribbon!

I tore myself away from househunting to take a little break and open photoshop! Hurrah! I made the Claire piece about a week ago, but the Lily piece I made just last night... I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, like I said to Line, it's good to get to this point that I'm not embarrassed by showing off my work, blood, sweat and tears! Lol. Not quite, but a little. Both pieces are for Jenni Lou's Little Red Riding Hood challenge on BF.

I had a little idea pop into my head about a drabble I could write. Totally out of character, of course, but it made me laugh- I had Bella and Buffy in my head, dualing out about who had the best vamp boyfriend. I hope it's funny in your heads too! So for the Slightly Comical challenge at BF, I decided to art it instead of just write it. This piece turned out nothing like what I had in my head, apart from the text, but it was ridiculously fun to make!

Poor Bella. I just hope Edward finally gives in to his less virtuous side in Breaking Dawn!

Zomg! I finished all of Moonlight in less than a week. I mean, I know it's only sixteen episodes, but still- that's like Jo of Christmas past or something, coz I haven't done that kind of marathon for ages... stupid real life, getting in the way of important fandom stuff!

And, I loved it. Loved it, loved it. I am in love with Mick St. John, I am in love with Josef, I'm even a little in love with Beth. But, mostly, Mick St. John.

In celebration, I made a little wallpaper... it's not the world's greatest (duh), but I kinda like it. I just like the way the lyrics fit, really.

The lyrics are by a band called Lampshade. They are a band from... I'm thinking Sweden, but maybe not. In any case, the entire reason I bought their first album was because I liked the cover art.

Well, I like to think I'm getting better at playing with photoshop, so here are two pieces I made. I made them! I liked the first until I made the second, and now I like that much more. These were made for a challenge on Buffyforums and made with help of caps from Pretty as a Picture and Screencap Paradise, and brushes from SayJay and Zugma, and textures from JenniLou.

I tried explaining to a non fan girl friend what fanart was, without wanting to sound like a real geek. Not coz I mind being a geek, but I didn't want to freak her out :)
I said "well, we have photoshop competitions, using still pictures from shows like Buffy..." I think I did good, coz she was impressed with pieces that I had made, and especially with my current wallpaper, which is incredibly Twilight by [info]realdetective  :) -she thought it looked incredibly professional.

On the break up front, I'm getting there, I think. I know I made the right decision, which makes it easier, but I miss him. How can a person go from talking to/seeing/eating with/sharing with every single day, to nothing? Mostly I'm also worried about Vietnam, since we were supposed to go in June and I want him to change his tickets, but I also want to find someone else to travel with. I'll travel alone if I have to, but it would be nicer to have someone there.
